The lease price offer is purely informative, and it can change depending on many factors; the actual price is confirmed only upon the completion of the booking.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY BOOKING IS CONFIRMED?
You will receive a confirmation voucher in your inbox that you will have to produce upon picking up the car.

HOW CAN I CHANGE OR CANCEL A BOOKING?
You can change or cancel your booking by contacting LatRent.

HOW MUCH DOES CANCELLING A BOOKING COST?
Cancelling a booking 72 h before the start of the rental period is free of charge; after that, a cancellation fee of the amount of 50% of the total car rental service fee, but not less than 30 EUR

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE RESTRICTION FOR RENTING A CAR?
The minimum age of a lessee is 21. However, we also lease out cars to adults under 21, in such cases an extra risk fee is applied.

IS THERE A MAXIMUM AGE RESTRICTION?
No, LatRent does not have restrictions of this kind.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS REGARDING THE EXPERIENCE OF THE DRIVER?
You have to have held a driver’s licence for at least 2 years. However, we also lease out cars to persons with less experience, in such cases an extra risk fee is applied.

WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE NECESSARY TO RECEIVE A CAR?
For concluding the lease contract you will need a valid driver’s licence and an ID card or passport.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE AVAILABLE?
It is possible to pay for the rental right away by booking a car on our homepage or when collecting the car in cash or by a payment card.

IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED FOR HIRING A CAR?
Yes; in order to hire a car, a security deposit is required. Its deposit amount depends on the car class.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO PAY THE SECURITY DEPOSIT IN CASH?
No, the security deposit is withheld only on payment cards (VISA, MASTERCARD)

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT RETURNED?
The deposit is automatically released within 14-20 days (depending on your bank) after the end of the rental period.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT NOT PAID PACK IN FULL?
The security deposit is not paid back in full if the car is returned later than stated in the contract, the car has suffered damages during the rental period, the fuel tank is not full upon returning the car, parking and traffic fines have not been paid etc.

WHEN ARE EXTRA DAYS ADDED TO THE RENTAL PERIOD?
All rentals have a 24 h daily period. If this period is exceeded, an extra day is added to the hire.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE MILEAGE IS EXCEEDED?
For each kilometre, an extra fee of 0.15 EUR is applied.

IS THERE A MILEAGE RESTRICTION FOR THE CARS?
Passenger cars have no mileage restrictions; minibusses have an overnight mileage restriction of 500 km.

ARE THE CARS RENTED OUT TO RUSSIA AND CIS COUNTRIES?
LatRent does not offer such services.

CAN I CROSS THE LATVIAN BORDER?
Yes – you can leave for Lithuania or Estonia without an extra charge. If you wish to go elsewhere, you have to make the necessary arrangements with LatRent first.

WHAT CAN I DO TO EXTEND THE RENTAL PERIOD?
If you wish to extend the rental period, inform a LatRent representative before the end of the rental agreement.

CAN SOMEBODY ELSE DRIVE THE HIRED CAR?
Yes; however, the extra drivers have to be indicated in the rental agreement and in possession of a valid driver’s licence. You will be charged extra for this service.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PARKING FINES AND TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS DURING THE RENTAL PERIOD?
The lessee has a unilateral responsibility for any violations and the respective fines during the rental period. If the lessee does not pay the fines during the rental period, they may be charged an extra administration fee.

DOES THE CAR HAVE TO BE WASHED AND CLEANED BEFORE RETURNING?
You may return an unwashed car; however, if the interior requires dry cleaning, the lessee may be charged extra

ARE ANIMALS ALLOWED TO BE TRANSPORTED IN THE CAR?
Animals may not be transported in hired cars.

DOES THE CAR HAVE TO BE RETURNED WITH A FULL FUEL TANK?
The customer receives the car with a full fuel tank and has to return it in the same condition.

IS SMOKING IN THE CAR ALLOWED?
Smoking is prohibited in LatRent cars. A 150 EUR fine will be charged for smoking in the car.

PICKING UP/DROPPING OFF THE CAR

CAN THE CAR BE PICKED UP/DROPPED OFF OUTSIDE OF WORKING HOURS?
Yes, we process the bookings 24/7. An extra fee of 20 EUR is applied when picking up/dropping off a car outside of working hours.

WHERE CAN I PICK UP/DROP OFF THE CAR?
You can pick up and drop off the car at our headquarters (52G Slokas Street), at the Riga Airport, as well as elsewhere in Riga and Latvia by previously making the necessary arrangements with LatRent.

IS THERE AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR PICKING UP/DROPPING OFF THE CAR?
There are no extra charges for picking up and dropping off the car in Riga or at the Riga Airport. If you wish to pick up/drop off the car elsewhere, you have to make the necessary arrangements with LatRent first.

WHAT DOES CUSTOMER’S EXCESS MEAN?
Lessee’s excess or responsibility is the part of damages that is covered by the lessee of the car in case of an insurance risk materialising.

Yes, all LatRent cars have OCTA and KASKO insurance.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO PURCHASE EXTRA INSURANCE?
Yes, it is possible to purchase extra insurance and reduce the customer’s excess; more information is available when booking a car.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE CAR BREAKS DOWN DURING THE RENTAL?
For all cars, 24/7 technical assistance is ensured in cooperation with BTA Baltic Insurance Company; in case of any damages contact the emergency service and notify a LatRent representative.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE CAR IS DAMAGED DURING THE RENTAL?
In case of any damages a LatRent representative must be notified immediately. Repair costs can be deducted from the customer’s excess

WHAT TO DO IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT?
A LatRent representative must be notified of the accident immediately. If two vehicles are involved and both are capable of driving further, filling out the agreed statement is enough; you will find it in the glove compartment. In all other cases, the police must be called.
